Mission:  The Women’s Center advances women and supports gender equity through educational programming, information, support services and resources to address the varied and complex issues facing campus women. We are committed to providing services, supporting activism and women’s leadership, and  creating awareness about gender equity and the need for social justice and women’s rights.

Legislative Concerns: Services for campus victims of sexual assault, rape, stalking, dating violence and domestic violence; gender and higher education issues; reproductive justice, pay equity, and Title IX.

Services provided: High quality educational programming and events including Women on Wednesday, National Women’s History Month, Love Your Body Day, Sexual Assault Awareness Month and a mandatory on-line educational program on the prevention of sexual assault and other forms of gender violence. Support and advocacy for campus victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, crisis pregnancy, sex discrimination, and other problems affecting women. The Women’s Center also provides information and referral about campus and community resources that address the unique needs of women. Finally, the Women’s Center administers a scholarship program for non-traditional SCSU women students, has a specialized resource library and lactation/breastfeeding room, and collaborates with student organizations that are concerned about gender equity, women’s safety and women’s leadership.
