Tuesday Member Feature: Childcare WORKS
Childcare WORKS has been striving since 1983 to fulfill their mission to "achieve and sustain affordable, high-quality child care options for families and communities."
Their organization advocates for such services, and offers parents, families, and communities much information in regards to current policy, such as the Child Care Affordability Act and the 2012 Outcomes for Child Care.
They offer this resource if you are in need of child care in MN.
Had a wonderful or terrible experience with child care? ChildCare WORKS encourages you to share your childcare story! Your own personal experience brings to life research and statistics and can help creation of positive policies.
Childcare WORKS also features two events, ChildCare Policy Hour and P2H2 (Pizza and Policy Happy Hour). The purpose of these meetings are "to stay on top of policy changes affecting children, parents, child care providers and child care programs – and to learn about when, where and how you can be a voice in the decisions being made!"
ChildCare Policy Hour takes place from noon-1pm, and you are encouraged to bring your lunch. Upcoming dates for this event in 2012-13 are: December 4, January 8, February 5, March 5, April 2, May 7, and June 4.
